The company’s reputation has been built almost entirely on word of mouth: long-tenured, union carpenter installation crews, a multi-decade relationship with its core manufacturing partners, and a commitment to on-time, on-budget delivery for general contractors, architects, and facility owners.
In 1958, Robert (Bob) Ravensberg, a former Regional Sales Manager for Modernfold, Inc., founded Ravensberg, not knowing a soul in town. He quickly became embedded in the community, building the friendships and business relationships that would help launch the company.
Before his business career, Bob was an All-American football player from Indiana who played for the Chicago Cardinals and won a championship with the team before it relocated to St. Louis in 1960.
Ravensberg still carries that product line today, and has since expanded its territory to include northeast Arkansas, western Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana.
1958
Robert A. Ravensberg founds the company in St. Louis, Missouri, launching as a lead distributor of Modernfold, Inc.’s movable partition products across central and southern Illinois and eastern Missouri.
1981
Bill Ravensberg Sr. joins the family business, going on to work across every facet of the company, including labor, estimating, project management, sales, and executive management.
1995
Bill Ravensberg Sr. takes over as President from his father, Robert Ravensberg, marking the company’s transition to its second generation of family leadership.
2015
Bill Ravensberg Jr. joins the family business after a nearly nine-year career as a Project Manager at Alberici Constructors, working through every department of the company as his father had before him.

Before rejoining the family business, Bill Ravensberg spent nearly nine years as a Project Manager at Alberici Constructors, where he gained hands-on experience managing complex commercial construction projects. He has spent the past 11+ years at Ravensberg, Inc., working through every facet of the company, including labor, estimating, project management, sales, and executive management.

Bill Ravensberg Sr. has been with the company since 1981 and represents its second generation of family leadership. Bill Ravensberg Sr. will remain active with the company as an advisor, providing continuity for clients, manufacturing partners, and employees throughout the transition and beyond.
